All good things must come to an end
As of Thursday, July 23, 2009, at approximately 10pm PST, Provocative Guild (Kil'Jaeden-US) was disbanded. There were many reasons for this disbandment, and in no particular order:
1) All 4 main tanks having to leave all at once due to real life problems. No guild can take the loss of all four tanks at once without feeling some pressure.
2) Lack of dedication to raiding. Too many people were selfish and self centered. Once they got the gear they wanted, they would stop showing up. If they thought we would wipe, they would stop showing up. They refused to improve themselves outside of normal raiding (whether through running 'older' instances, or even 10 mans) because PvP was more important. They were not patient with teaching new recruits about fights, about their skills, or gearing them up. And doing rep grinds? Looking up community forums and theorycrafting websites? That's for lower people because of course, they were the best players in the world and far above that mundane crap.
3) Internet and computer stability issues. All of us have crashes from time to time, but some of us have it more than others. When you're in heavy progression mode, you need every single one of the 25 players to be online and focused on the fight, not worried whether or not their healer or tank or dps would get disconnected.
4) A lazy attitude. Too many times people would just afk for no reason, or do stupid things. They would show up when they wanted, and not show up if they had something more fun to do. Guess what? All of us have more fun things to do. All because the raid spot was theirs.
5) Lack of listening. Everyone knew what they were doing was best, and who cares what the raid leader says? They're gonna do their own thing anyway.
6) Meters, meters, meters, meters. I have to be #1 on the meters. Interrupts, dispels, not spawning adds, and all that are for N3WBZ! I must be #1.
7) Personality conflicts. People takes things WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too personally. Relax already. Just like the real world, you have to deal with personality quirks and annoying people. Just shut them out and do your job. So what if they annoy you? So what if they are assholes? Let them do their job and you do yours.

Obviously this does not apply to everyone. I was fortunate enough to honestly say that we had some of the best players I have ever played with in the guild. People that you would macro to invite to the raid the instant the logged in. But unfortunately, in a guild like this, that is trying to push heavy progression, all it takes is 2 or 3 bad apples and it ruins it for everyone.
My advice to you all as you move to different guilds is this: find out what aspect of the game you like and stick to it.
- Hard core progression minded raider - one who does *EVERYTHING* he possibly can to get himself to be the best he possibly can. He lives for wiping dozens, if not HUNDREDS of times to learn a fight and get it down. He doesn't give up after two wipes and want easy mode. He doesn't care if he doesn't get loot for months. He's not dueling some scrub outside Ironforge 2 mintues before raid start time, asking for a summon and forgetting buff reagents. They will spend hours doing rep grinds, doing 10 mans, doing whatever needed to increase a single stat point. To those, I say find yourself a hardcore guild that's progressed and demands the absolute best. Anything else is a downgrade.
- Fair weather raider - one who raids when it's convenient, easy, and/or has a chance to give him shiny new epics. Blizzard has made raiding more accessible, but there's a huge difference between a casual raider and a hard core raider. It's not the time invested, or even the desire for content. It's the ATTITUDE. It's the commitment. For these raiders, I would suggest a medium-progressed guild. It's a more relaxed environment and more open to scheduling and what not.
- The selfish assholes - you know who you are, you know what you do, so basically a big "FUCK YOU!" to those of you who are selfish assholes. For you people, go die in a fiery car wreck. If you have to ask, "Was I a selfish asshole?" then the answer is probably yes.
